Carnivore, Vegan and Everything In Between
I’ve been really interested in the Carnivore Diet movement. It’s really amazing to see so many people feeling better and reversing disease. However, we see the same anecdotes within the vegan and plant based community. If we believe that there is one perfect human diet then this can be very confusing. However, the reality is that people who get results from any diet are likely giving their body something it needs and/or taking away something that is causing dysfunction, imbalance or disease. From this perspective, it starts to make sense why such diverse diets improve health. Biochemical, genetic (and gut microbiome) individuality are all tenets of Functional Medicine. This individuality and variation from person to person is the answer to why health is increased by such diametrically opposed eating patterns.
